Approximately 2,000 feet of water main on Carlisle Springs Road is scheduled to be replaced beginning Monday, October 1. The existing pipe is over 100 years old and approaching the end of its operating life. The contractor will be replacing the water main, water valves, hydrants, and service lines in the area.
Carlisle Springs Road will not be closed while the work occurs; at least one lane of travel will be open. There will be signs and flaggers on site to direct traffic. Work will occur Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The contractor has also been granted permission to perform overnight work on a trial basis, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. This overnight work could significantly shorten the duration of the project by 2 or 3 months. There are blackout dates on the schedule, including the Fall Carlisle show.
Property owners in the immediate area of the work should be receiving a letter from the Borough detailing the project. It is the contractor’s responsibility to insure water service to all Borough customers remains active during this project. This may require the contractor to place a temporary water service line to a few properties along the work are during construction. You will be notified if your property will need temporary service.
The project should wrap up by mid to late December.
